{Happy Sunday}

by madewithloveweddings

Happy Sunday all. This is a quick one from me just to drop in and say ‘Hello’

Life has been manic of late, the day job is uber busy and my photography too! I am just relaxing with a diet coke following the most amazing and relaxed wedding yesterday in the depth of rural Cambridgeshire

A few weeks ago, i shot a wedding in Cambridge and it was beautiful, intimate and the Bride & Groom were beaming all day.

Feast your lil eyes on these..

Once the day job has calmed down a little (fingers crossed by the end of this week) I will be back to hunting out little bits of handmade loveliness to help make your day personal to you. However, what i have noticed from the 3 weddings I have shot this year, is not all the extra’s, its the love, the happiness & the commitment that has been made – gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside…

{Happy Sunday All}

Quirky Cake Topper

by madewithloveweddings

Sorry its been a few days since my last post…. the day job has taken over plus with some client meets, coupled with seeing my bestie, time has escaped. But never fear  check these out! :)

This really caught my eye. Its quirky, its different, its right up my street! Not to mention that it is super cute as well.

I have always wanted to learn how to crochet, but have never got around to it ( note to self: learn how to crochet) and this is one of the reasons why – you are able to create such beautiful little piece such as this amazing cake topper.

Made by Cherry Time, a find via Etsy ( another handmade website that i can loose hours on!)

Look how fab they are on top of a cake!

Awesomeness.

Wow – what a week!!

Back to the day job… it makes life very busy, interesting and enjoyable! I do *love* being busy, i am one of these people that get bored very quickly and like to be on the go most, if not all of the time. I do occasionally enjoy the odd super lazy day when i thoroughly enjoy spending all day in my PJ’s watching DVD’s and drinking diet coke..

This week has seen lots of lush handmade wedding inspiration on the blog. I am back to trying to blog once a day, although it may not always happen…

My fav post of this last week was perhaps the {Eco Bridal Bouquet}

How lush!? I do love Folksy, there are so many amazing things on there. I love indulging myself in a few hours to have a look and take in the talent on the site.

I enjoyed writing about the reasoning behind having an engagement shoot, it is really fun and if your photographer offers this to you… take them up on it and have some serious fun!

I have been out on a family shoot this morning, feeding the duck and dodging the rain, plus i have put together a mammoth blog post of Emily & Scott’s wedding over on my Amy Lewin Photography blog – for the full post take a peek {here} but here’s a little teaser…

So on to the week ahead, i have a few suppliers to introduce to you….. Eppppp! Jewellery & decoration… plus a few bits for the guys…

Have a fab week all!

A x

Pah! Do i need an engagement shoot?

by madewithloveweddings

An engagement shoot??? Do I need one of these with my wedding photographer?

The hubs and i got married in 2010… we didn’t have an engagement shoot and really wish we had… it would have been superb to have some keepsake images of us before we got married, all casual, relaxed and having fun.

We *did* however have a cherish the dress/suit shoot a year after our wedding and I and can only describe it as being awesome. James Melia is somewhat of a genius to me and a real inspiration – his work is just immense. Do go and drool over his website.

Me & my man

So why have a Pre Wed/ Engagement/ Love shoot?

*You get to spend a glorious morning or afternoon in the company of the person who will share your wedding day with you, almost as closely as your other half. (We can have coffee & cake first, or in my case diet coke and non cake)

*An engagement/pre wed/love shoot allows you to get use to having your photographer wave a camera in your face & test out some possible couple shots for the wedding day.

*It allows you to get use to the way your photographer works, how they may direct you on the day.

*Its fun – and who doesn’t want to have fun?

* You get a whole heap of awesome images of the two of you to frame, make in to a canvas or use on your wedding day!

Bridal Sash – {How to customise your gown}

by madewithloveweddings

This little sash draw me to it straight away..

Design and made by Everything Bride i think it is beautiful and the Art Deco styling drew me obviously!

I love it… my own wedding dress had a sash that came as part of the design, so yes i may be a little biased!

But if you looking for a little bit of sparkle that is understated, perhaps a beautiful bridal sash is the way to go…?

Vintage Map Bunting {Venue Decoration}

by madewithloveweddings

Love a nice length of bunting me! I could make the fabric varity if i so wanted, but this make bunting is of a different breed!

Love travel? Traveling important to the two of you?

For me and my Hubs, at the start of our relationship there was plenty of travelling involved for us. Its not quite as romantic as us always heading off to far flung places, but travelling just to see each other while i was away at uni. Even now, i still love the feelings that the train station evokes for me….

So back to this awesome bunting, made by Grace & Favour via Not On The High Street.com ( or NOTHS for short)

”Lovely set of bunting created from vintage paper maps. Double sided flags machine stitched together for strength and strung together on a length of twine. Maps used will differ from those shown – we use a variety of vintage OS, road and tourist maps”

Maybe you have some old maps kicking about at home of places you have been, visited, loved?

Eco Bridal Bouquets

by madewithloveweddings

Another glorious Folksy find… but what is uber fab about this is that it is not only handmade, but eco friendly too.

Wowzers. They are just beautiful.

Did you know they are made from upcycled drink cans..? The bouquets can be made to match your theme, budget and colours and it is totally handmade from start to finish. (you can also get buttonholes for the guys!)

They will keep long after your wedding, a wonderful momento of your day, plus you can get box frames to have it mounted up in to and then it can hang on your wall too!

Handmade by Geneva Silver – you can view her shop {here}

And its not only these that you can buy – how about earrings to match?

*Lush*

Folksy rocks people.

A Beautiful Wedding Gift

by madewithloveweddings

You may have heard me harp on about Folksy before now… you can see a home wares post I did {here}

In my capacity to be nosey, and my love of handmade coupled with my love of weddings i came across thses awesome and rather quirky wedding gift via the wonder that is Folksy! A wonderful piece of art, made by creating yarn out of old newspaper and knitting it together!

How lush is that?

Made by Zygote Gifts – you can see more of the amazing item over on their folksy shop {here}

 Perhaps you could save a newspaper from the day you got married and have it worked in to this, an amazing 1st Wedding anniversary gift….

This quote sums the work up perfectly…  ’old stories are spun into new stories’

Beautiful.

It has been an awesome 3 weeks…

Outfit planning {Dressing up!}

by madewithloveweddings

With around 2 weeks to go until one of my friends get married, my attentions are being turned to what I am going to wear.

I have the dress… Its this beauty from M&S ( The hubs bought it for me, what a star!)

(Note this is NOT me in the dress!)

I thought i would team this up with my black leather jacket and some awesome black wedges.

The next big thing is to accessorize the outfit, due to the high neckline, i thought that perhaps there is no need for a necklace, so instead i have opted for this awesome button bracelet, designed and made near to my home by Clair of Folbar Beads, i am off to collect it this morning before i head to Cambridge for today’s wedding i am photographing – cant wait!

I am most upset that the chick is not included!

I am just now on the hunt for a bag and headwear…

Watch this space!

After saying that.. i just found this via Folksy

I have always loved designs like that – ever since watching Lord of the Rings and the headdresses that Arwen wears.

I think perhaps the yellow lace on the dress, the leather jacket and a little head piece like the Folksy one ( the Arwen ones are rather elaborate and my ears are no where near pointy enough!) could say kind of say festival chic…

Hummm, i like.
